Rules & Regulations

1. ROADS

a. The speed limit on Soundview Avenue and Highland Terrace shall not exceed fifteen (15) miles per hour.

b. No parking shall be permitted on these roads or in the right of ways to the beach.

2. BEACH

a. No one except residents (members) and their guests shall be permitted to use the beach.

b. No picnicking shall be permitted on the beach.

c. No ball playing (or rough playing) shall be permitted on the beach or in the swimming area.

d. No sitting or draping of towels, etc. on the seawall in front of the cottages shall be permitted.

e. No parking of boats shall be permitted on the beach. Boats will be stored on the boat racks only.

f. Boats shall not be moored or piloted in the swimming area.

g. No dogs shall be allowed on the beach.

h. No parties or playing of radios, etc. will be permitted on the beach or surrounding areas after 11 p.m.

i. Fireworks will not be permitted on the beach without prior approval of the Board of Directors of the Association .

j. No glass objects.

 

3. PETS

a. All pets shall be kept on a leash at all times when off the owner's property.

4. ENFORCEMENT

a. Trespassers and violators shall be duly prosecuted.

HERCC BEACH AND FLOAT RULES

Amended July 2007

The arrival of our WONDERFUL new float is a good time to remind all members, guest and tenants of the Rules and Regulations for using the beach, the lawn, the float and Seawall. Please keep these reminders in a handy and visible place all year:

 

Rules for Using the Beach Area:


No one except HERCC members and their guests may use the beach; children under 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
No ball playing or rough play on the beach or in the swimming area.
No sitting or draping of towels, etc., on the sea wall in front of the cottages.
No parking of boats on the beach.
Boats should be stored on the boat racks only.
No boats may be moored or piloted in the swimming area.
No dogs are allowed on the beach.
No parties, playing of radios or other loud music, etc., on the beach or surrounding areas after 11:00 pm.
No fireworks shall be permitted on the beach without prior approval of the Association Board of Management.

 

Rules for Using the Float:


Use common sense.
Use at your own risk.
Use the rope line to pull yourself out and back, if you need to.
No diving off any part of the float.
No jumping off the back of the float (there are chains there that connect to the anchor.)
Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
No roughhousing.

 

Rules for Using the Right of Way:

Because the Seawall is private property, not owned by the Association and used only with the permission of the waterfront homeowners, please respect their privacy by being quiet, not peering into their homes, passing by quickly, and observing the restrictions below:.

The "Seawall Walk" is open for Association Members only; children must be accompanied by an adult
-- No loitering or fishing off the Seawall.
-- Members may walk along it at their own risk between 9:00 am and 6 pm year-round.

From May 1 through October 30, the gate is open during these hours. After the season, the gate is closed so be sure to close it behind you after passing through it.
