HERCC
The HERCC Board of Management met on February 4 at the home of President Mary Blank. Present were: President Mary Blank, Treasurer Jon Morrow, Secretary Sandy Podesta, Board Members Tom Connor, Mike Eisele, Judy Merriam, and Jim O'Brien. Board Members Rita Amaio and Kim Ruggiero were absent and missed.
The following topics were discussed:
Finances:
Jon Morrow gave the Treasurer's report and was pleased to inform
the Board that our finances are in sound shape, all dues paid
in full, and the Boat Rack fees also paid with the exception of
one boat owner. See attached sheets for complete details.
Jon also reports that he continues to improve the HERCC website
and invites everyone to view the site at http://www.hercc.org
The site includes some new photos, the by-laws, minutes, an
overview of our financial situation, along with many other features.
The Board thanked Jon for his work on the website.
As proscribed by the By-Laws, an audit of the books was undertaken.
Tom Connor led this effort along with expert assistance from Paul
Teich and Bob Cika, who were pleased to report that the Association's
financial recordkeeping and reporting are in fine shape. The
Board commended Jon Morrow for maintaining fiscal responsibility
on our behalf and thanked this audit group for their dedication
to this task.
Tom Connor continues his efforts to secure a copy of our insurance
policy and to ensure that our insurance coverage is adequate and
appropriately valued.
Beach:
Mike Eisele reported that the Annual Beach Clean-Up has been
scheduled for Saturday, April 26, beginning at 9am.
Judy Merriam is updating the boat rack allocation and will review
payment, participation and billing for the Beach Storage Shed.
Winter Gathering:
The HERCC Winter Gathering was set for Sunday March 9, beginning at 4pm. The Padudah's have generously offered their home for our enjoyment. See enclosed flyer for details.
Other Business:
Representing the Board and the Association, Mary offered heartfelt
sympathy to the Anderson Family at the loss of their mother, Pauline,
a longtime HERCC member.
In her memory, the Board made a contribution on behalf of the
Association.
Mike Eisele has withdrawn his request regarding paving of the
road leading to his home.
Mary Blank is in the process of sending a friendly letter to
the Willenkins reminding them that the Association owns about
25 feet beyond the fence that currently sits on the road leading
from Soundview Avenue to the Willenkin property.
Sandy will undertake updating the HERCC Directory and asks anyone
with new information to contact her via phone (203-697-2833) or
e-mail at sp@eBusinessWriting.com
As promised in the last minutes, copies of the Association By-Laws
and the Rules and Regulations are enclosed, for your information.
They are also available on the HERCC website.
The next Board Meeting was scheduled for Tuesday April 8 at 7:00pm, once again at Mary Blank's home. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted,
Sandy Podesta, Secretary
