Hostess, chef, spirited leader and Board of Management President Mary Blank welcomed us into her home on March 30, 2004 at 6:30 pm and served us a sumptuous repast.
Announcements
President Mary Blank congratulated Judy Merriam on the birth of
her first grandchild Brady, born to daughter Jill on February
17.
On behalf of the Association, Mary congratulated Maxine Sklover
on the premier of her play The Park Bench, which was recently
performed at the Blue Heron Arts Center in New York City.
Treasurer's Report
Treasurer Jon Morrow reported that all members are currently paid
up on their dues for last year! The next invoice for this year's
dues will be mailed within the next few weeks. Jon previewed that,
to no one's surprise, our snowplowing costs were quite high this
year; Jon will make a full report at the Annual Meeting this summer.
Committee Reports
Insurance:
Tom Connor is in the process of reapplying for our Homeowner's
and General Liability insurance, which must be done each year.
He is executing the application process meticulously and scrupulously
to ensure that, should we make a claim, we will not compromise
coverage as a result of incomplete information provided beforehand.
Jetty, Beach and Landscaping:
Bob Cika announced our Annual Beach Clean-Up to be held Saturday,
April 24 with the following Saturday, May 1 as a raindate
9:00 a.m. is the starting time. Everyone is asked to participate
in this fun and productive event! Refreshments will be provided.
Please note that we will be cleaning out the Storage Shed this
year and that broken chairs and umbrellas will be discarded so
if you wish to guarantee preservation of your beach items, plan
to show up on April 24!!
Bumps, Streets and Signs:
Signs: Paul Teich reported that he has arranged for the Town
of Madison to replace the street signs for the corner of Soundview
Avenue and Neck Road as well as the corner of Ridgewood Avenue
and Neck Road.
Fences: The Association will be responsible for repairing, power
washing and repainting the fences that adorn our corners. Paul
asks if there is any member who owns a power washer that they
would make available to us or if anyone plans to have their
home professionally power washed and would be willing to "piggyback"
the fences onto their home projectwith reimbursement, of course.
Streets: After the winter, the streets also need repairing and
resealing. Paul will get prices from a number of firms so that
we can make the most cost effective choice for this important
job.
Tag Sale
Volunteers are needed to take change of an Association Tag
Sale this year should anyone wish to hold one. Please contact
any Board Member with your interest.
Boat Rack and Storage Area
As promised in previous minutes, Judy Merriam is in the process
of developing new policies to better govern the use of the boat
rack and storage area. To this end, she has created a survey,
which is attached, to explore member needs and wishes regarding
usage of the boat rack. If you are or plan to be a boat owner
or if you have an interest in this topic, please complete the
survey and return it to Judy as quickly as possible.
REMINDER: Please note that we will be cleaning out the Storage
Shed this year and that broken chairs and umbrellas will be discarded
so if you wish to guarantee preservation of your beach items,
plan to show up on April 24!!
Hospitality
Deb Paduda reported, on behalf of all of us, that the Winter
Party was a huge success! The Nikituks graciously hosted up to
70 people at their beautiful newly decorated home.
The Annual Meeting, Parade and Picnic will be held on Saturday,
July 17 (raindate Sunday, July 18.) More details will follow as
planning continues. If anyone would like to participate in planning,
please contact Hospitality Chair Deb Paduda at 245-0664.
Other Business
Planning is underway for the bench that Ellen Cika and her brother
are donating to the Association in memory of their mother, the
late Grace Cross. More information will be forthcoming and will
be disseminated to the membership.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The Board's next meeting will take place in late April. See you at Beach Clean-Up on April 24.
Respectfully submitted,
Sandra Podesta, Secretary
