Minutes of the Board of Management Meeting

April 14, 2001The Board Meeting was held at the home of Secretary Sandy Podesta. Also present were President Brian Burke, Treasurer Jon Morrow, Board Members Tom Hynes, Rita Amaio, Jim O'Brien, Michael Eisele and Mark Kasevich.
BEACH CLEAN-UP: Saturday May 19 at 10:00 am has been selected for the Beach Clean-Up with the following Sunday May 20 as a rain date. Rita Amaio has once again offered to provide coffee for our devoted volunteers. All members are encouraged to participate in this fun event it's a quick way to see friends, meet new neighbors and work together for everyone's safety and benefit! See enclosed flyer for details.
ANNUAL HERCC MEETING AND PICNIC: Mark your calendars! This year's Annual Meeting will take place on Saturday July 21 at 9:00am on the HERCC Beach Lawn. Sunday the 22 is the rain date. The Children's Parade will begin at 5:00 pm followed by the picnic, which will begin at 6:00 pm. All hands are welcome to help; anyone wishing to volunteer to assist with food, games, beverages, grilling and ideas should contact a Board Member.
BOARD MEMBERSHIP: Prior to the Annual Meeting, the Board will select a slate of nominees for membership. The slate may be approved or amended at the meeting and then voted on by all present.
TAG AND BAKE SALE: Some members expressed interest in a tag sale this Spring. Sandy Podesta volunteered the use of her yard once again at 282 Neck Road; however, she and Kim will be unable to organize a spring event. If anyone is interested in taking over the Tag and Bake Sale, Kim and Sandy will be happy to advise you. Please contact Sandy (245-6038) if you are interested. Otherwise, we will aim to have a late summer sale.
SPEED BUMPS: With this year's treacherous winter storms came damage to our speed bumps, two of which were plowed away. The remaining bumps are in disrepair. The snowplower has agreed to replace the bumps that have been obliterated. The Board will also get an estimate on repairing the damaged ones.
JETTY MAINTENANCE AND CORNER SIGNS: Board Members are making progress in researching these two issues. Facts and prices should be gathered by the Annual Meeting, if not before, and communicated to all members.
HERCC WEBSITE: Our own website has been up and running for some time, thanks to Jon Morrow. If anyone would like to have his or her e-mail address added to the site, please contact Jon at 245-1405.
OTHER BUSINESS: The Board reviewed a letter from the Judelsons with respect to the condition of the seawall, use of which the Association retains due to an easement by prescription. The Board will respond directly to the Judelsons regarding their concerns.
TREASURER's REPORT: Treasurer Jon Morrow was pleased to report that the dues of all Members are fully paid and that HERCC's finances are in sound order. Bills for annual dues will be sent out in May and are due upon receipt.
